Awana at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church
For parents who want their kids to grow in God's Word, build strong friendships, and actually look forward to church nights.
- Scripture memory and Bible teaching (age-appropriate)
- Games, encouragement, and meaningful milestones
- A welcoming place for kids to belong and grow
More Than a Kids Program
Parents want more than activities — they want roots. Awana helps children hide God's Word in their hearts, learn to listen, follow, participate, and grow in faith alongside friends.
Biblical Foundation
Weekly teaching anchored in Scripture, helping kids understand and apply God's Word to their lives.
Confidence and Joy
Kids participate, answer, memorize, and grow — building confidence as they achieve real milestones in their faith journey.
Friendships
Healthy peer connections with positive reinforcement, built through teamwork, encouragement, and shared learning.
Family Support
Parents aren't doing it alone. Awana partners with families to reinforce biblical values throughout the week.

Kids Are Placed by Age
We group kids so teaching is age-appropriate and engaging. Not sure where your child fits? Just show up — we'll help place them.
Cubbies
Early Bible truths and fun learning. Cubbies introduces young children to God's love through engaging activities, songs, and simple memory verses.
Sparks
Scripture memory and Bible learning foundation. Sparks helps kids explore the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and develop a love for God's Word.
Truth & Training
Deeper Bible engagement and discipleship habits. T&T challenges older kids to know God's Word, apply it to life, and grow as young disciples.
Kids Love Working Toward Milestones
Awana uses handbook progress and recognition to motivate kids and celebrate growth. Depending on age group, children may earn achievement jewels, award emblems, and broader recognition as they complete sections and memorize Scripture.
Awards include items like the Victory Trophy, Merit Medallion, and Workman Trophy — real accomplishments that reflect real growth.
End-of-Year Celebration
We love cheering kids on. Families are invited to celebrate what God has been doing in their hearts and minds at our annual awards ceremony.
Our Aim: Train Up Children to Love the Lord
We're dedicated to helping families raise children who know God's Word, love Christ, and learn to glorify God in all things. You'll find a church that takes Scripture seriously — with a friendly, welcoming environment for families.
The Bible is God's Word and our foundation for everything we teach.
Kids learn best with clarity, repetition, and encouragement.
Parents matter — we want to support you, not replace you.
You Can Feel Confident Dropping Your Child Off
We take children's ministry seriously. Kids check in, classes are supervised, and we work to provide a safe, orderly environment where kids can learn and thrive.
Secure Check-in & Pickup
Children are checked in by name and only released to authorized adults at pickup.
Screened Volunteers
All Awana leaders and volunteers are church members who have been screened and approved.
Supervised Classrooms
Age-appropriate groups are led by trained leaders maintaining proper adult-to-child ratios.
Emergency Contacts on File
Parent contact information is collected at check-in so we can reach you immediately if needed.
