Biak Vaiphei

India

Ministry Overview

Biak Vaiphei serves as a dedicated missionary with International Partnership Ministries (IPM), focusing on reaching the Deaf community in India through gospel-centered ministry. Working within a context that requires careful attention to security and cultural sensitivity, Biak ministers to one of the most underserved and often isolated communities in the nation.

Field of Service

India is a nation of over 1.4 billion people with significant economic and social challenges. The Deaf community in India faces particular challenges including limited access to education, employment opportunities, and spiritual resources. Many Deaf individuals remain isolated from mainstream society and have limited exposure to the Gospel message.

Ministry Focus

Deaf Ministry Work

  • Evangelism and church planting among Deaf communities
  • Discipleship and spiritual mentoring for Deaf believers
  • Building bridges between Deaf churches and hearing churches
  • Leadership training for indigenous Deaf leaders
  • Reaching a marginalized and often overlooked population

Current Projects

Biak is currently working on building projects that will strengthen the Deaf ministry infrastructure in India. Current building needs include a tin roof facility with a target of $11,000, with $4,000 already raised. This facility will serve as a gathering place for Deaf believers and a base for continued ministry expansion.

📖 Prayer Requests

  • Provision for the current building project ($7,000 remaining needed)
  • Safety and wisdom for ministry in sensitive contexts
  • Strength and health for Biak and family in challenging circumstances
